Now that I have the Application, what do I do next?
If you have not visited the school, we invite you to schedule a tour/interview by calling 617-923-4156. In addition, we offer Open Houses several times during the academic year. A Parent Interview, which is held in conjunction with a tour of the school, is required as part of the admission application.
We ask that you return the completed application to us no later than January 15, in order that your child may take part in one of the visiting days. Any applications received after the admission deadline will be handled on a space available basis.
Decision letters are mailed on March 9. Students who apply after January 15, and who successfully complete the admission process, may be offered a place at the Atrium based on space available in any given class.
What takes place during Group Visits?
During Visiting Day, teachers and specialists participate in a number of activities with children to assess their developmental, academic and social skills. We observe children interacting with peers and teachers. Children applying for grades K-1 visit for one hour, and all higher grade applicants visit for two hours. In addition, grade 2-6 applicants are also required to spend a half day in a peer-level Atrium classroom during regular school hours.
