How to Give
We appreciate gifts of any size. Gifts are most often made by check. Checks should be made payable to Atrium School and mailed to:
Development
Atrium School
69 Grove Street
Watertown, MA 02472
Please note your name and current address, and indicate the purpose of your gift (e.g. Annual Fund, Capital Campaign).
Securities
We welcome gifts of securities, which can both increase your gift to the Atrium School and provide you additional tax benefits. If you make a donation of appreciated stock, held for more than one year, you pay no capital gains tax on the transaction and can take an income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the transferred stock.
To give a gift of securities:
Contact Steve Fabiano, Business Manager, at 617.923.4156 and inform him you
would like to make a gift of stock to Atrium, including the name of the
stock, the number of shares being transferred and the name of your broker.
You will be provided with routing instructions.
Memorials and Honors
Atrium often receives gifts in memory of, or in honor of, students, teachers, parents and friends of the school. When such gifts are received, the Development Office notifies the honoree or their family (in the case of memorial gifts).
Corporate Matching Gifts
Many corporations offer matching gift programs for employees and their families. A matching gift can often double your gift.
Some corporations also make matching gifts for volunteer hours spent working on behalf of non-profits. We appreciate being designated as the recipient of such matching funds.
Contact your human resource or business office for instructions on how to arrange a matching gift.
The Charitable IRA Rollover Gift
Under the Pension Protection Act of 2006, donors 70½ and above planning to make a gift of up to $100,000 may enjoy significant tax advantages by giving directly from IRAs. Please consult your financial advisor to determine if you can take advantage of this opportunity before it expires at the end of 2007.
