Linda Echt, Atrium’s new Associate Director
The Atrium begins the new school year with a new Associate Director, Linda Echt. Linda’s role at the school includes responsibilities in admissions, faculty support, and curriculum development. Here are Linda’s thoughts on the school, and her role.
I will never forget the day I walked in to the Atrium school for the first time, which is now over ten years ago. I walked in and felt immediately at home. I could feel a palpable joy of learning, community and huge heart. As I have come to know the Atrium over all of these years I have come to know that in addition to my first impressions, the Atrium is a school that understands excellence in education, teaching for understanding and the value of knowing its learners. The Atrium's approach to education is thoughtful, informed and intentional.
I have been in education for over 25 years teaching and administrating. In 1992 I founded Kesher, a community Hebrew school after school in Cambridge. Over the past few years I have had the privilege to study with an amazing cohort of educators through the Mandel Teacher Education Institute, part of both Brandeis University and the Bureau of Jewish Education.
My role at the Atrium will include admissions, teacher support and curriculum development. What an honor to be part of the continued growth of the Atrium School. I am over and over again impressed by the children, highly devoted teachers and immensely supportive, hard working parent body.
It is with enormous excitement that I begin my new position as Associate Director at the Atrium School, and a year filled with wonder, challenge and joy!
