We are extremely fortunate to be across the street from the magnificent Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Founded in 1831 as America’s first landscaped or garden cemetery it comprises 175 acres. Home to an astonishing diversity of flora and fauna as well as an exceptional collection of statuary, this jewel affords us countless opportunities for the study of urban wildlife as well as local history. Boston Biomedical Research Institute

Just a few doors down is the Boston Biomedical Research Institute. BBRI is an independent, non-profit institution dedicated to basic biomedical research to promote the understanding, treatment and prevention of human diseases. They are sponsors of the annual “Walk for Science” which raises money to bring a higher quality of science education to area schools. In addition to participating in this fundraising event, our students have the opportunity to visit the BBRI laboratories and see real science in action. Plans are in the works for a scientist in residence and other hands on collaborations. Read more

Matilda’s Sandwich Shoppe

Matilda’s Sandwich Shoppe is our neighbor on Crawford Street. We are lucky to have such a tasty establishment designing special lunch menus for us. By collaborating with Matilda’s we are able to offer a wide selection of healthy meals delivered fresh and hot to our front door for those students wishing for an on site lunch option. Read more
