Teachers in the elementary grades at Atrium work in multi-teacher teams. We seek candidates with particular strengths in designing and implementing innovative curricula across subject areas, differentiating instruction, and leading interdisciplinary projects in a classroom where social-emotional learning, collaboration, and kindness are valued. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, dual licensure or master’s degree preferred, and a minimum of three years of experience leading classrooms of elementary-aged students
Possess the spirit and qualities of innovation, reflection, initiative, collaboration, and kindness
Excellent communication skills with students, colleagues, parents & guardians, and the greater community
Experience and capacity in teaching diverse, multicultural perspectives
Strong ability to problem solve, and work both independently and collaboratively
Genuine understanding of elementary school students’ emotional, physical, cognitive, and intellectual development
Fluency & ease with Google suites, and interest in developing effective instructional technologies
Responsibilities:
Teach critical thinking and problem-solving skills through math, science, and interdisciplinary projects
Design, refine, refresh, and implement curriculum following Atrium benchmarks; assess student work using multiple strategies
Ensure a productive learning environment through clear routines, consistent expectations, and high standards for all students
Write individualized student progress reports twice a year, and conduct parent conferences; regularly communicate with parents and guardians about curriculum and student progress

School Counselor, PreK – Grade 8 (part-time)

Position Description:
Atrium School seeks a part-time school counselor (24 hours a week) to be a central figure in the well-being and success of children ages four to fourteen at Atrium. The Counselor closely collaborates with teachers, administrators, and families to plan and implement student support. Atrium’s School Counselor is an experienced, proactive, joyful, and highly skilled social and emotional health practitioner.
Furthermore, the School Counselor:
Provides short-term individual direct support to students facing challenges and helps connect them to additional resources when needed.
Works with teachers to develop students’ social skills and peer relationships, and supports planning for individual students.
Works with faculty and school leaders to guide response plans for consultation, conflict resolution, and support.
Works collaboratively with parents to help develop strategies to increase students’ school success and well-being and to refer, when needed, to outside mental health services.
Serves as a resource to members of the Atrium community on issues related to mental health and social/emotional learning.
Occasionally teaches students on wellness & health topics.
Collaborates with outside therapists to provide coordinated support to students.
Guides periodic adult sessions to discuss various parenting topics and effective home-to-school relationships.
Collaborates with the Admin Team to plan and implement professional development for faculty.
Participates in the admissions process, providing insight and feedback on applicants.
Requirements:
Minimum of a master’s degree in counseling and/or social work (LICSW, LMHC, MSEd) or comparable license.
Experience working in culturally responsive elementary and middle schools.
Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work collaboratively and build trust with families, teachers, administrators, and students.
Salary Range: 24 hours weekly, $42,000 to $48,000 (based on experience).

Substitute Teachers (part-time)
Atrium School currently seeks substitute teachers who take the place of a teacher who is absent for personal, professional, or health reasons. Though long-term subbing situations may arise, the usual commitment is for full or partial days, one or two days at a time. Opportunities for after-school programming subs may also be available.
In PreK to Grade 5, this means assisting the co-teacher who leads the classroom.
In the Middle School, this includes facilitating and carrying out lesson plans for the day for a given class and creating reports to inform the students’ permanent teachers about the day.

Qualifications:
A strong candidate for the Substitute Teacher position will possess the following skills and qualifications:
